Executed Project in Hospital cabinets

UFNT's historical tradition begins with the "Faculty of Education, Sciences and Letters of" Araguaína "(Facila), created by state law nº 9.470, of July 11, 1984. [6] It came into existence already offering courses of letters, history, geography, social studies and sciences It was initially absorbed by the State University of Tocantins (Unitins) until, in 2003, its structure was transferred to the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT).
Proposals for the creation of an autonomous university in the north of the state of Tocantins permeated the main regional discussions on education, but they never had the strength to become a parliamentary project. However, studies commissioned from the minister of education Aloizio Mercadante allowed the sending of bill No. 5274/2016 to the Chamber of Deputies, in May 2016, authored by the executive of Dilma Rousseff, proposing the creation of a new university in the state from the dismemberment of the UFT campuses in Araguaína and Tocantinópolis. [8] [9]
After passing through all legislative commissions, the proposition became Law No. 13,856, created by the "Federal University of the North of Tocantins" (UFNT), sanctioned on July 8, 2019 by President Jair Bolsonaro, becoming effective only from 9 July 2019, with its publication in the Federal Official Gazette.
Even though it was officially created, it only became effective after the appointment of professor-doctor in geography Airton Sieben as rector pro-tempore, on July 9, 2020. Sieben will have the mission to promote the transition between UFT and UFNT.
